Precious Properties works out of Loring Hills Ave in Salem, and what has been written about it publicly is short and dated: one Google review, posted in April 2021, at one star — the same single rating that makes up its 1.0 Google average. That 2021 seller described a sale that nearly came apart. The agent who had done the legwork was terminated partway through, they wrote, and the owner took over as their realtor on a condex deal that needed bylaw amendments, title work and record updates for FHA eligibility — a transaction they say was handled with fights picked with a neighbor and their own attorneys challenged. One account from five years ago is thin ground either way, and it says nothing certain about how the office runs today. It is, though, the only written account on file. Before listing with them, ask which agent would actually carry your sale start to finish, what happens if that agent leaves mid-deal, and for references from sellers they closed for this year.
Poor Quality, Poor value, Not Professional, Not responsive, all 4! Sellers use caution! Worst experience! Our original agent was terminated for no reason after doing all the leg work for our sale which had many moving parts to it. The owner took over the sale as our realtor and almost derailed our sale due to lack of knowledge and understanding. We were selling a condex which required bylaw amendments, some title issues as well as needing to update records on the property for FHA eligibility. Our poor representation picked fights with our neighbor, challenged our attorneys, mishandled our final readings and after all said and done, stiffed us of our seller's concession we had agreed upon with our original agent. House listed mid April. Offer accepted May 21. Closing set for July 19. Our original agent was with us from the beginning until the very suspect termination on July 2 after he did all the work. Closing happened August 1 and that final month felt more like a for sale by owner situation as I was doing everything myself while having to do damage control from her misdealings. Would have fired her but was so far towards the end, P&S, inspection, bank loans, lawyers and more importantly, many others involved and affected within this deal, so closing in a timely fashion was important. Precious Properties which consisted of just the owner and no one else received a commission over $13K for doing absolutely nothing! Our true realtor who was let go via certified mail with no justification did not receive a dime of what should have been his well earned commission! So the owner Linda Lanes who is the one who caused the problems walked away with that money from the sale of my family's home! I even found some code violations she committed when I figured out that my listing was removed prematurely, well before our closing and without my permission. After all the setbacks, including the fight and lawyer interferences she caused, I informed Ms. Lanes that we did not want her at our closing as our trust in her was at zero. She insisted that she would be going so I had to instruct my lawyer to not allow her. During this time I tried to reach her to discuss this awful ordeal and my wife and my dissatisfaction with everything and try to figure out some recourse, she avoided my calls and emails. I filed formal complaints with the BBB and Realtors Association. She is a crook. There are many good companies out there if you're looking to sell your home. This is not one.
