Powers Landscaping is a Marblehead, MA outfit built around one person showing up: Zach Powers, who the company says opened the business in 2018 and has run it as owner ever since — about seven and a half years, per his LinkedIn, out of Salem. People call him for the full range of yard work, from weekly mowing contracts to one-off patio rebuilds and, come winter, plowing for both houses and commercial lots across the North Shore. On Google, 70 ratings average a flat five stars, and the 46 written reviews behind that are close to unanimous — the last six months alone produced 29 of them without a single negative one. What repeats across them is Zach turning up on the job himself: one homeowner describes him personally tearing out an old gravel patio, regrading the yard, and spreading fresh loam over a weekend. Others point to specific builds rather than routine upkeep — a stone surround built around a fire pit, and a custom garden-edging project that included framing a wooden walkway. On the commercial side, a four-year client credits the crew with keeping a property salted through the winter, and during one blizzard, a downtown Salem building with almost no room to work had Zach and eight crew members moving snow through the night to keep tenants' parking spaces clear. The reviews split fairly evenly between people who've kept Zach on for years of standing lawn care — weekly mowing, spring and fall cleanups, mow-and-blow across several properties — and people who called him once for a specific rebuild. Worth asking upfront which of those your job is, since the personal, hands-on approach that shows up in the patio and walkway jobs may look different once it's a crew running a commercial snow contract. For North Shore homeowners who want the same person accountable for both a Tuesday mow and a weekend hardscape project, or a commercial property that needs dependable storm response, Powers Landscaping's history backs that up. Confirm scheduling and crew size for your specific job before booking, given how wide an area — Marblehead out to Somerville and Boston — the company covers.

Owner personally handled my backyard project — even working over the weekend. He removed an old gravel patio, graded the yard, and spread fresh loam, all with excellent attention to detail. He was responsive, flexible with scheduling, and great to work with throughout the process. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again or recommend his services to others.

I’ve been using Zack and his team at Powers Landscaping for three years now, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. They handle my weekly mowing and provide thorough beginning and end-of-season bed cleanups that keep my property looking great year-round. Zack is versatile and willing; he’s helped me plant trees, relocate shrubs, place stone edging, and he reliably plows my driveway all winter. His prices are fair based on the service he provides, and he is always responsive when I reach out. What really sets him apart is his integrity. When a landscape light was accidentally damaged, he handled the situation responsibly and ensured it was repaired immediately. Additionally, if a project is outside his scope, he’s been a fantastic resource for referring me to other high-quality service professionals. If you want someone hardworking, honest, and helpful, Zack is your guy!

I highly recommend Zach Powers and his crew! From his quick response to getting me an estimate to the services being completed. I hired Powers Landscaping to do a spring clean up on my property and I could not be happier with their attention to detail. They took their time and hand pruned my large rose and hydrangea garden and hand edged all of my flower beds. I look forward to hiring Powers landscaping for my future projects.
