Power Masonry is a Quincy, MA masonry contractor holding an active Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor license (HIC #174960). City permit records tied to the business name show it has filed building permits in Boston going back to 2018. On Google, it holds a 4.8-star average from 17 ratings, and BuildZoom's directory gives it a score of 95. Nine reviews on file span 2021 through 2025 across three sources, and the tone across that stretch is consistently positive rather than a couple of one-off raves. One thing worth asking about directly before hiring: Boston permit data shows the company has closed only about 18% of its 39 rated permits since 2018, and 33 of the 41 total permits it filed remain open. That's a paperwork question, not necessarily a workmanship one, but it's worth confirming any permit pulled for your job gets formally closed out with the city. For repointing and other masonry work in the Quincy/Boston area, the ratings history here runs several years deep across independent sources — just don't assume a permit is closed until you've checked with the city yourself.

I can’t say enough good things about C Power Masonry. Ciarán and his team repointed the entire façade of our South End building last year, and the result was flawless. From start to finish, Ciarán was honest, accommodating, and an absolute professional. He listened carefully to our requests, coordinated everything efficiently, and ensured that the worksite remained safe and well-organized throughout. They delivered exactly as promised, on time and with excellent quality. It’s rare to find such dedication and integrity — I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone considering masonry work.

Power Masonry did a great job building a new retaining wall and joining it to existing walls. Team was respectful and kept the job site clean each night. Very happy with the result.

Our building was built around 1890, and is located at the top of a hill. Due to the location and height, the back-wall of our building is unobstructed and suffers the impacts of the severe winds and rain that New England nor’easters bring. Over the years, our building has suffered significant and repeated water leaks and we have hired various other “contractors” to address the leaks. However, the work those contractors did never solved the problem. When looking to repoint our building (for the 3rd time in ~ 15 years), Power Masonry was recommended by another building who had similar problems. We received multiple quotes from various vendors, and Power Masonry’s quote was reasonable for the scope of work proposed. At the time, Power Masonry was working another similar job in the area, and Ciaran Power allowed owners of my building on-site to inspect the work that he was doing. Ciaran walked us through what would be done on our building (e.g., cutting out the old mortar between the bricks; removing and replacing bad bricks with newer ones; etc.), showing us how it would look and how deep the work/cuts would go. Note: Ciaran noted that the contractors we hired in the past never removed the bad bricks/mortar, but rather, just “smeared” new mortar on the wall where a hole appeared, which only acerbated our problem. Power Masonry was ultimately selected for the work (on the back wall only), and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Since Power Masonry has completed the job, water leaks from the back wall have ceased. The work was so impressive, we hired Power Masonry to do additional repointing on another wall of the building when water leaks on that side started to appear. Upon completion, those issues ceased as well. It’s important to note that Ciaran Power stands by his work. A year after completion of the most recent work, a unit started to encounter water leaks. Ciaran came immediately and inspected the wall and confirmed that it was NOT repointing related (but rather, a window that was improperly installed by a prior owner). We are quite impressed and pleased with the work of Power Masonry completed and will be hiring him again to repoint other walls of our building in the coming years. We highly recommend him to others looking to have similar work completed.

I hired C Power Masonry to repair the top 5 feet of my Chimney! If I could give them 10 stars, I would, he was 1 of three masons to work on my Chimney, the other two failed, Ciaran, who is the owner of Power Masonry corrected the problem, for 12 years I had to deal with a leaky fireplace in which 2 other Masons and a roofer couldn’t solve my problem and Ciaran was able too, Ciaran and his crew we’re very professional, punctual, honest, and immaculate, I very highly recommend them!!!!

Ciarán’s crew repointed our foundation inside and outside. They were very professional and Ciarán was available for any questions I had. The foundation looks great and, after moving everything in the basement away from the walls to do the work, they then moved it all back the way they found it.
