Open Door Handyman Group works out of 55 Mission Rd in North Chelmsford and is hired for the mixed bag a handyman gets: carpentry, flooring, painting, siding and small remodels, with the company's own site adding construction and installation, general maintenance and home inspections for homes and businesses. On Angi and HomeAdvisor the business describes itself as locally owned and operated, lists Spanish spoken and emergency service, and claims six years of experience. BuildZoom lists the owner as Rebecca Raphino; the company's own website names no owner and is written in the first person by whoever does the work. The one credential that is verified rather than claimed is the registration. The Massachusetts registry lists Home Improvement Contractor licence 199063 as active, held in the company's own name. BuildZoom records that same number as active with an issue date of July 15, 2026, so it is worth asking how long the registration has been continuously in place, because reviewers and permit records describe work going back to 2021. The written record is small and consistent rather than deep. Google, Angi and HomeAdvisor each publish a 5.0 average from three ratings, but the underlying comments are the same handful: Angi itself flags one of its three cards as a copy of a Google review, and HomeAdvisor's page is the Angi mirror of the same listing. What those homeowners describe is steady. A November 2024 Google reviewer said a worker named Javiere came to the house twice, was easy to contact, arrived on time, performed the work expertly, left the space in perfect order and charged fair prices. In March 2024, reviewers said the crew was prompt and reliable, kept them constantly informed of progress, and left the house very clean. The fullest account is older: in October 2021 a homeowner described finding the company by an internet search, having a basement leak repaired, and then having the unfinished basement built out. Two things are worth checking before booking. BuildZoom's permit sample shows only two jobs at a single Randolph address, a 2021 reroof valued at $9,500 and a 2022 vinyl-siding job valued at $15,000, and BuildZoom states it has received no customer reviews for the business at all. The memberships listed on Angi and HomeAdvisor, "Nyiad and BAC", are self-reported and unexplained on both profiles. For small-to-mid home repair, carpentry, or a finished-basement type project around Chelmsford, the feedback that exists is uniformly positive and specific about timeliness and clean-up. Ask for recent references, since the newest published review dates from November 2024, and confirm the registration directly with the state before work starts.

With the expected growth of our family, we needed to increase the living space in our home. We had an unfinished basement with a leak. We found Open Door Handyman Group by a mere internet search. Obviously we were very hesitant to trust any unknown. Upon my first conversation with Ed, he removed some of our initial anxiety. We explained our situation and our dream of having a finished basement. William arrived the following day (Saturday) to see the space and take measurements. We provided our vision and William made great suggestions. We also mentioned the leak that should be repaired prior to remodeling. Within a day, we received the estimate which was affordable and within our budget. On Monday morning William arrived with a team and began repairing the leak. I can't tell how much of a relief it is to no longer worry when it rains. After the repair, the remodeling began. I didnt know what to expect. The team understood and respected our needs. Upon completion of the project, we were all so delighted. The remodeling included, a private room with a small closet, a full walk in closet, a living room, office, storage closet, laundry room and a beautiful bathroom. William and the designer were clever to add a few amenities that we did not think to ask for. Our new stairs are amazing and maybe my favorite part! I'm not sure. This project started as 1 large non- functional empty room with incomplete insulation. It is now a heated multi-purpose family space. This was a great experience which gave us a beautiful addition to our home. I would highly recommend Open Door. We will definitely call them for any future projects.
