Nawada Landscape Design is the rare local landscaper with a television credit: the company says owner Jennifer Nawada has been the landscape contractor on This Old House and Ask This Old House since January 2020, after designing the show's Auburndale entry garden back in 2010. What clients describe is a designer who runs the whole job, not just the drawing. Across 17 accounts on Houzz and Google, two things repeat — plans that absorb the homeowner's own ideas, and installations that stay organized. A January 2019 client described a large urban yard rebuilt with retaining walls, a built-in grill, bluestone patio, play structure, fencing and garden beds, and credited her with managing the subcontractors well. In May 2016 another wrote that a new front walkway also fixed a drainage problem they had not known could be corrected. A 2015 client said a shrub that struggled through winter was replaced free the following spring, as promised. The design credentials are real and specific: a 2000 master's in landscape design and land use planning from the Conway School, and Massachusetts Certified Horticulturist since 2004. The company also says its owner holds a Massachusetts home improvement contractor licence, but no number is published and none has been confirmed against the state registry here. One thing to weigh honestly: the praise is consistent but dated. The newest written account is from June 2021, and the ratings — 5.0 across 17 on Houzz, 4.8 across six on Google — were earned mostly between 2015 and 2020. Ask for two or three recent clients you can actually call. Houzz puts typical jobs between $10,000 and $300,000, which tells you the fit: this is design-build for a substantial garden or yard rebuild, not weekly maintenance.
