Molloy Lawn & Landscape works out of Randolph, and the calls that keep coming are for the seasonal jobs — a spring cleanup, a storm's worth of snow to clear, a yard that needs to look sharp again. The company says it's been family-owned since 1963, run today by John Molloy, whom it describes as a landscaper with more than 40 years of hands-on experience serving Milton, Randolph, Canton, Braintree, Quincy, Hyde Park and Dorchester. Its Google rating sits at 4.7 stars from 74 ratings, and the last few months back that up: of nine reviews since January, eight are five stars and specific about what the crew did. This spring, reviewers point to the same things — Ernesto's crew clearing a yard "professional and courteous," Bryce turning around a quick estimate and a thorough cleanup, another calling the work "very detailed and meticulous." In January, two reviewers singled out storm cleanup and snow removal, one describing the crew clearing paths around the house and even helping free a stuck truck. That recent run isn't the whole story. A July 2026 review describes a sod installation and year-long treatment plan gone wrong, with a worker who didn't speak English sent to the property — a specific, recent complaint worth asking about directly before signing up for anything beyond a one-time cleanup. It fits a longer pattern too: reviews from 2023 through 2025 repeatedly describe trouble getting a call back, missed follow-ups, and last-minute cancellations. Its BBB profile shows an A+ grade, though the business isn't BBB-accredited and the page lists no review or complaint counts, so it adds less than the letter grade implies. For a seasonal cleanup, mowing, or snow removal, the recent reviews are specific and consistently positive. For anything bigger or ongoing — a sod job with a service plan, or work that depends on the office calling back — it's worth confirming who's assigned to the crew and getting a clear answer on follow-up before booking, given both the July complaint and the earlier pattern around communication.

I would not recommend Molloy Landscaping to anyone, and I am sorry I chose them for my sod installer. I had my sod installed last May and I signed up for the year of treatments in order to get the sod warranty. They sent one worker to my property (who didn't speak English) to prep the lawn and install the sod all by himself. I don't feel the prep was done properly and the sod started browning and dying along the seams. They were supposed to do seven treatments under the maintenance plan and only did three. I made multiple email and phone call attempts to Molloy to address this problem, with no results. There supervisor, Brice came out once to check the sod and told me that it should return to normal, but they would keep an eye on it. He never came back nor did he return any messages that I left him. I also signed up for the treatment plan for this year, but none have been done yet. This company has very poor customer service and their warranty is worthless. Buyer Beware!

Thank you, thank you, Molloy Landscaping , for the incredible Spring cleanup! We are so happy we chose you! Ernesto and his crew were so professional and courteous. They are the hardest working landscapers we have ever had! Thanks to them our yard looks amazing! Thank you ,Bryce for a very reasonable estimate as well! We give Molloy our highest recommendation and already have them scheduled for our Fall cleanup!!

We had a very positive experience with Molloy. I was able to schedule an estimate quickly. Bryce came and did our estimate - he was great to work with and very quick response time with the estimate and via email with any questions that I had. The Spring clean up was excellent, quality and thorough work.

Malloy did a great job with the spring clean up. Came in at a great price, and was very happy with the work they did. Removed all the leftover leaves, edged all the grass areas and did some weeding.
