Mercurio Brothers Landscaping

By its own account, Mercurio Brothers has been landscaping out of Revere since 1983 — but you would barely know it online. Two Google ratings exist in total, one warm and one furious, and the company's BBB profile carries no rating at all because BBB says it lacks enough information to issue one. The company tells BBB it incorporated in 1995 and runs five employees under president James Mercurio. The work it lists goes well past mowing: retaining walls, sprinkler systems, seeding and sodding, tree and landscape design, night lighting, and landscape contracts for condominium and apartment properties alongside commercial accounts. The favorable account, written in 2023, names Jim and Mike directly and spans both ends of that range — regular lawn care plus, in that homeowner's words, "a couple beautiful patios at a reasonable cost." The other, from 2022, is not about the work at all: a neighbor described watching one of the company's drivers scream at an elderly woman over a parking spot, and said it was enough to rule out hiring them. Two comments four years apart cannot tell you whether the crews are consistent. Treat this as a call-and-ask: get references for a job the size of yours, and if a crew will be working your street for days, ask who supervises them.
