The one recommendation Maven Design Build has drawn came with homework attached. Answering a June 2025 request for general contractors in r/medfordma, a redditor named the company, linked its site, and added: "Drive by 1 Packard Ave in Somerville." Go and look at the job yourself. That is the whole of the independent record, but the formalities check out. The company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 211966, is registry-verified active under the name Maven Design + Build LLC, and BuildZoom places the business at 449 Pleasant St in Milton with Matthew Morrissey named as owner. It presents itself as a design-build outfit working the South Shore and inner Boston suburbs — Milton, Quincy, Braintree, Weymouth, Hingham through to Duxbury, plus Brookline, Newton and Waltham — taking on new construction, renovations, additions and custom builds. It also says it partners with Boston Modern Staging + Design, which is where the interior design and home staging side comes from. What is missing is any customer account: no reviews, no completed-project write-ups, no pricing. The BuildZoom score of 90 is not a satisfaction measure — that page says plainly it only indicates the company is licensed or registered. A fair candidate for an addition or a whole-house renovation on the South Shore, especially if design and staging in one contract appeals. Take the redditor's advice and go see finished work, and ask for references on a project the size of yours.
