Mark-One

Mark-One is a container-and-demolition yard on Industrial Avenue East in Lowell: roll-off dumpsters, residential and commercial junk removal, interior and exterior demolition, basement dig-outs, and a propane filling station on site. Its Better Business Bureau profile puts the business at 31 years, started in 1995, with Mark Peters as president and an A+ grade; its Houzz profile dates it to 1989 and puts typical jobs between $1,000 and $50,000 from Greater Boston west to Worcester and north toward New Hampshire. The people who liked it liked the logistics. A May 2023 customer got a dumpster the same day, and when they needed a few more hours the driver came back for the pickup. In December 2022 another described a run of dumpsters through a whole-house renovation with the office staying on top of it. Two contractor firms writing on Houzz in early 2015 said they had used Mark-One for years across bathroom and full-house demolition, and singled out skilled drivers and deliveries that landed on time. The trucks are also where the current complaints come from, and both are recent. In March 2026 a driver in Chestnut Hill wrote down the plate — X59792 — after being cut off entering a rotary. In June 2026 a parent described a near-collision at the Ayer rotary with a child in the car, followed by an obscene gesture from the cab. Those are the two newest accounts on the Google page, which otherwise averages 4.4 across 30 ratings. Earlier one-stars are about the counter, not the job site: in August 2023 a customer who had been dumping concrete at $50 a yard was turned away on a later trip, and in May 2024 a propane customer said staff didn't know how to fill the tank and the pump shut down before the posted 5 p.m. closing. One thing to check yourself. BuildZoom lists Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration #151286 for the company as inactive, with an April 2023 expiration, and reports Mass.gov recorded that status as at one point cancelled; the Houzz profile still shows the same number. If your job is home improvement rather than a container drop, ask for the current registration before signing. The state's Supplier Diversity Office registry does list Mark One, LLC as a certified Minority Business Enterprise and Women Business Enterprise, both active through March 2029, and Houzz lists the firm as EPA Lead-Safe Certified. For a dumpster or a demolition crew around Lowell, Chelmsford and Billerica, this is a long-established yard with only eight written accounts spread over eleven years behind it — enough to confirm the containers show up, not enough to settle much else. Pin down what you're allowed to put in the box, and the current licence status if there's construction attached.
