Verified record
LBJ Masonry works out of 500 Grossman Dr in Braintree and is hired mostly for the heavy end of the trade — foundations, waterproofing, tuckpointing and chimneys — with brick and stone siding, patios, walks and steps alongside it. The state registry holds an active Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 210170, under the holder of record LBJ MASONRY CORP. The reviewed track record runs from 2024 into 2026 across Angi and HomeAdvisor, and it is unusually consistent about two things: schedule and cleanup. Homeowners describe stucco repair "done efficiently, started and ended right on-time", front steps replaced "on time and on budget", and a roofing repair that grew mid-job where the crew brought the extra material the same day and an expanded crew the next. Several note the yard left in pristine condition afterwards. Liam is named directly in most of the recent reviews and is clearly the person customers deal with. On a 1903 house with a fieldstone foundation, a homeowner wrote that he "knows foundations and concrete in an encyclopedic fashion". Others describe replacing three courses of deteriorating CMU while carrying the weight of a concrete roof, taking a chimney down to the roof line to replace the flues and re-brick it, and a waterproofing job on a foundation that a customer expected to hold "for at least my lifetime". Two things are worth knowing before you call. The work skews to large tickets — reviewed jobs include $23,800 for foundation repair, $42,000 of commercial tuckpointing, $81,000 of waterproofing and a $130,000 tuckpointing project — so ask early where your job sits and get the scope in writing. And every one of the 38 ratings on each platform sits at five stars, with no lower rating anywhere on file; the praise is detailed and specific, but there is no critical review to weigh it against. If you have a foundation, waterproofing, chimney or masonry job of real size on an older Massachusetts house, this is the kind of firm the reviews point to. Confirm the registration number against the state registry yourself, and pin down the scope and price before work starts.
Traditional Stucco - Repair or Partially Replace ($11,000). Job was done efficiently, started and ended right on-time. Decent level of cleanup afterwards and all our questions and concerns were dealt with.
Brick or Stone Siding: Install or Completely Replace. Liam and his crew are exceptional. Job done not only as promised but faster than expected and extremely well!!!
Brick or Stone Siding: Repair or Partially Replace. I would certainly hire Liam again and highly recommend him. He is thorough. Excellent communication. Followed through on everything we discussed. Professional and honest.
Concrete Foundation Repair ($23,800). Replaced three courses of deteriorating CMU, while supporting the weight of the heavy concrete roof. The new CMU were reinforced with rebar and the cores filled with mortar.
Brick or Stone Tuck pointing ($130,000). I don't think it's possible to find a better company to work with than LBJ. Liam knows foundations and concrete in an encyclopedic fashion. Our house, from 1903, was built with a field stone foundation and hadn't had any serious foundation work since the mid 1970's. We hired LBJ to clean up the grout between the stones on the inside, and based on the work they did brought them back for a complete foundation repair with poured walls on the outside. Before they started we had holes that you could see the daylight in the basement. Now it's all closed up and solid. This job was expensive but well worth it.
