Johnson Bros. is the Quincy plumber people seem to call when the problem is already live: a backed-up main drain, a leaking shutoff, a toilet that will not clear, a water heater acting up. Google shows 352 ratings at 4.8 stars, and the recent pattern is less about slogans than access — customers say a person answered the phone, a technician followed quickly, and the problem got explained in plain language. That speed shows up across a wide range of recent jobs. In the last six months on Google, customers describe next-day help for an emergency, short-notice repairs to leaking shutoffs and a shower pipe, a flooded-basement call where Nate walked the homeowner through the issue, a main drain backup in a rental, a toilet replacement, a faucet install, a drain job followed by an outdoor shutoff-valve replacement, and a garbage-disposal swap. The same smaller details keep repeating: on-time arrivals, work areas left clean, and technicians explaining why the problem happened instead of just handing over a bill. The work people mention most is everyday residential plumbing. Drains, leaks, toilets, faucets, shutoff valves, water heaters, and related repair work dominate the recent reviews, and its Massachusetts plumber license is active. A small number of reviews also mention heating or AC-related work, but plumbing is clearly the center of the business. The thing to settle before booking is the service-call or diagnostic charge and what that first visit includes. One recent 1-star Google reviewer said a technician did not know how to handle the issue, did no meaningful review of the problem, and still charged $249. That does not match the bulk of recent Google reviews, where other customers describe pricing as fair, transparent, or exactly as quoted, so it is worth asking what the visit fee covers and whether the repair itself is likely to happen that same visit. It is also worth knowing that the BBB picture runs colder than Google: the BBB page shows a B- grade, a 1.7-star customer rating, and one complaint on file. If you want a local plumber for urgent household work, Johnson Bros. fits best on quick-response repair calls. Before you put them on the schedule, confirm the visit fee, the scope of the first appointment, and who will be coming out.

Nate came out within a day of my initial call to fix a couple leaks at my shutoffs and a pipe for the shower. He showed up exactly when he said he would. After he left I went to do some cleanup where he worked but found that he had already done a perfect job and left nothing for me to clean. Excellent Service at a great price! You don't get that kind of service anymore.

The Johnson Bros. are fantastic! I just had a plumbing emergency -fast leaking hot water tank- and after calling a couple of plumbers that had AI answering systems (that were basically nonsensical) I was so relieved to get through to human being- Nate. He calmly and kindly talked me through turning off the water and draining the tank to prevent flooding and set me up with a first available appointment for a replacement - just a day or two later. They did this today exactly at the time they said and now we have hot water back! Very happy with these guys and definitely recommend them for professionalism and speed of service!
