John's Landscape Service has been mowing, mulching, and plowing the same stretch of Arlington and its surrounding towns for decades. LinkedIn puts its founding at 1986, while the company's own site and its Better Business Bureau file each land a year or so on either side of that (1985 to roughly 1987, depending on which page you check). Whichever date is exact, this is a long-running operation — about a dozen employees, per LinkedIn — built on repeat, seasonal contracts rather than one-off jobs. What this winter's reviews make clear is that snow is where this crew earns its loyalty. Reviewer after reviewer describes the same pattern: trucks out during the worst of a storm, driveways and multi-step properties cleared without being asked twice, and — when other plowing outfits quit mid-storm — this one showing up anyway. One client says they've used the snow service for more than twenty years; another, three. On the design side, a recent Angi review describes a landscape plan executed exactly as pitched and installed within two days, and the company's BBB file has carried an A+ rating since 2004. Its Houzz page is a clean 5.0, though that's from just two reviews. Not every account is glowing. A 2026 Google review complains that the crew's equipment runs backup alarms constantly in a residential area — a specific, recent gripe about noise rather than workmanship. Separately, the company's Angi page carries a disputed complaint over a missed fall cleanup and a curt office exchange, plus a reviewer flagging the minimum charge for a snow-plow visit as steep. Between a 4.0 average across 81 Google ratings and a slightly higher 4.4 across 125 on Angi, this reads as a well-liked, long-tenured operation — the kind of contractor people keep on retainer specifically for not having to worry about who shows up during the next storm. Worth confirming directly: how the crew handles noise-sensitive properties, and exactly what a plow visit costs before the first snowfall.

I am very happy with the landscape design and implementation. I showed them the area I wanted. They came up with a plan and I just trusted it would be something I would like. I love it. They did a great job and installed it in two days. Very happy.

Their communication has been great. I can't beat comparable pricing. The crew showed up and completed the initial portion of the project. Staff (all) are professional and very accommodating. Great choice!

John's Landscaping does a wonderful job taking care of our grass and landscaping all season long, as well as handing all the leaf clean up in the fall. They are professional and thorough, as well as super communicative. We also used their snow removal services this winter when we had significant snowfall while we were out of town, and they cleared our property quickly and efficiently! Absolutely recommend this business.

We have had John’s Landscape Services do snow removal for us for 3 years. We have a long driveway, parking area, 2 sidewalks, 4 sets of steps, 2 porches and 2 decks that can’t be plowed, have to be snow-blowed and shoveled, so quite labor intensive. John’s has been fantastic, showing up at all hours of the day and night, silently shoveling at night, as soon as the snow stops. Very prompt, detail-oriented, super hardworking and responsive.
