Seventy-eight permitted projects and three written reviews — Handren Bros. Builders does far more work than it collects feedback for. The Harwich company is run by brothers John, David and Gregory Handren, Cape Cod natives who say all three are certified construction supervisors and personally involved in each job, working Chatham, Harwich and the towns around them. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. The useful account is recent. A homeowner writing in January 2024 said the brothers remodeled a 40-plus-year-old Cape kitchen from demolition to final touches, and that every subcontractor they brought in was as skilled as they were — a detail worth noting, since on the Cape the subs often decide how a job goes. A gutter supplier writing back in 2013 said the same thing from the trade side: quality of work and attention to detail. The company says it is approaching its thirtieth year and points to two Chatham Historical Preservation Awards, in 2008 and 2011, plus an annual scholarship for Harwich High School graduates. BuildZoom lists membership in NFIB and the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod, and lists a Massachusetts construction supervisor licence separate from the registered home improvement contractor number — that is the normal shape for a building company whose principals hold their own supervisor credentials. What is thin here is the volume of homeowner feedback, not the work: three reviews across five sources, spanning 2013 to 2024. Both platform ratings sit at 5 stars, but on two ratings each. For a kitchen or a Cape addition in Harwich or Chatham, ask for two or three recent project addresses — with 78 permits on file, they will not be hard to produce.
