One name comes up in nearly every review of Green Energy Gains, and it isn't the company's: Garrett. The Danvers outfit is a Mass Save home performance contractor — it does the no-cost home energy assessment, then handles the air sealing, insulation and weatherization it finds — and the assessor is what customers write about. A homeowner writing in July 2026 said he walked their house, laid out short- and long-term options, and sent a written summary afterward. Another in February 2026 said he climbed into a long, narrow crawl space she would not have peeked into herself. The company describes itself as locally owned and operated, working in partnership with the Sponsors of the Mass Save program, with Greg K. named as owner. BBB lists it as a non-accredited Danvers insulation contractor with an A rating and a file opened in March 2024. What carries through 26 reviews written since 2023 is the absence of a sales pitch. A 2024 reviewer put it plainly: thorough on the condo, plenty of suggestions, "not at all pushy or salesy." A 2023 customer who acted as his own general contractor said Garrett Hodgson walked him through the steps to reach the point where Mass Save covered 75% of his insulation costs. Where the work actually got done, the accounts hold up: a 2023 reviewer said the crew insulated their attic and basement and the house was "buttoned up tight"; another that year moved from assessment to installation and noticed an immediate difference in heat efficiency. A 2025 reviewer said the work made a big difference in their utility bills. The Google average is 5 stars across 29 ratings. Two things to know before calling. First, a fair share of this praise is for the assessment rather than the finished job — two reviewers said so themselves, one in 2023 writing "ask me after the insulation contractor is done for a complete review." Second, Reddit posts from October 2024 relayed a headline that ConnectM announced a strategic acquisition of Green Energy Gains Inc., so it is worth asking who runs the business now and who would be doing the installation. For a Mass Save assessment on an older house, this is a well-reviewed place to start. Ask who does the install, and get the scope and rebate math in writing before the crew books.

“I called [Green Energy Gains](https://maps.app.goo.gl/cTppw7XvhCnAzPm98?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy) and Garrett from their team came out and was excellent. Informative, but not salesy. One of the first times I was ever motivated to write a review for a business.”
Garrett did a home energy assessment for us and was extremely helpful! He took the time to evaluate our home thoroughly and explained different options we had to make improvements in both the short and long term. He shared a summary afterwards with all of the info we needed. Super helpful and would definitely recommend!
Garrett recently did our Mass Save energy audit and was extremely thorough and helpful. He enthusiastically examined a very long, narrow, and creepy crawl space that I would probably never have had the guts to even peek inside. I learned a lot from his assessment, and now we are ready to transition our home to clean energy!
They did a great job. Very professional and worked efficiently. They work was done very well and has made a big difference with my utility bills.
Amazing service, ideas and responsiveness from Garrett Hodgson... We were without AC for a week plus in a heatwave, been trying to make a decision as to which way to go. We understood there were rebates out there though MA Save, yet most independent HVAC companies did not want to touch them as they were a lot of work to process and get reimbursement. We met with one HVAC company that took valuable time to explain the differences of the heat pump system and although it was a whole lot more than we anticipated spending, this system also provided us a back-up heat source and our sales rep. took on the responsibility of explaining AND processing the necessary paperwork to get the rebate. Part of the process was filling out an online form to set up a site visit for approval to receive the $2500 rebate and be eligible for the $2000 tax credit. We did the application 2X, thinking it would be a week out based on the website and got an error messages. Our sales rep. gave us Garrett Hodgson's from Green Energy Gains email address to contact and within 5 minutes Garrett replied! We were able to work out an appointment for the following day (instead of a week), which provided us time to make our decision, and book the installation for the following week! We felt so fortunate! Garrett arrived promptly at his appointment time, thoroughly explained his process and immediately confirmed we were eligible fot the rebate and also shared what he would do to try to save us additional $ based on the energy efficiency of our home. He went through our home and was very helpful, certainly was not a salesperson...simply someone who knew what he was doing and believed in what he did. He was with us for about an hour, provided an excellent education and honest analysis of our home and where we may (or may not want to) make energy improvements that were cost effective and cautioned us on the ones that were not. while he was with us, he spent a few extra minutes to send us the needed forms for financing to expedite the process should we want to go that route and later that evening we received his full assessment, recommendations, pricing and follow-up instructions should we want to do any additional work that Garrett explained. Thank you for employing such a fine young professional as Garrett, we were really impressed with Garrett, the process and we hope we are equally as pleased with our new system!
Garrett from Green Energy Gains came by to do an energy assessment on our home, and was very helpful. He did a thorough review of our condo and gave us a number of suggestions but was not at all pushy or salesy, which I appreciated. I strongly recommend you give them a call if you’re considering making your home more energy efficient.
