Gold Seal Waterproofing works out of Auburn, the kind of one-truck operation a homeowner calls for a wet basement, a cracked foundation wall, or a sump pump that finally needs replacing. BBB records list the company under owner Paul R. Beauregard — also doing business as DMS Construction — with the business running since 1985, putting four decades behind the name. Every review that surfaces names Paul directly, not a dispatched crew. In one from this June, he patched a foundation gap in a 1910 house and left the homeowner ready to call again for more waterproofing work. In April, another customer praised him for being straight with them: after finding the job complicated by ledge rock, he laid out the options and pointed them toward other contractors rather than force it through. Google shows a clean 5-star average, though it rests on just seven ratings — a short track record, not a long one. The company also operates under the name DMS Construction, worth clarifying when getting a quote so the paperwork matches who's actually doing the work. Its BBB page carries an A+ grade, but Gold Seal has never sought BBB accreditation itself — a real grade, just not the accredited badge. One directory even files it under "Masonry Contractors" rather than waterproofing, a mismatch worth noting but not one that any actual review disputes. This reads as a small, owner-run outfit suited to a focused basement or foundation repair rather than a large multi-crew renovation — worth a call for a leak or a crack, with the understanding that the online track record is still thin enough to check with a direct reference or two before booking.

Paul was very knowledgeable about old foundations (1910 house) and patched a hole we had. If we need more waterproofing we will definitely call him again.

Paul let me know his honest opinion on the work and reported because of the rocks it is a difficult job- Explained whatever potential solutions that he could think of and recommended other companies that might be handle the work. Appreciated the honesty and him taking his time to explain things.

Needed foundation repair that was causing a wet basement. Paul came out quickly to do an estimate and then said he could do the work right then and there. His quoted price was significantly less than a quote from a larger company that gave me an estimate over the phone. He repaired the problem quickly and professionally and did a thorough inspection of the rest of the foundation as well. I recommend Gold Seal Waterproofing highly. It is clear that Paul takes pride in his work and does an excellent job at a reasonable price.
