I got out early this morning to take Crayon for a trail walk in Gloucester. It was beautiful and I got some nice pictures, but then I slipped on some rocks and had a bad fall and had to be rescued by emergency services. I was very embarrassed and it could have been a really stressful situation, but amazingly, Faith from Animal Control hiked out with the rest of the crew, just so she could take care of Crayon as I was whisked off to the hospital. Officer Eastman, also from Animal Control, stopped by to see me in the hospital to let me know that Crayon was at the shelter and that he was okay and had made some friends. It made the day much easier to have that peace of mind. When I was released and got to the shelter, I discovered that Faith had waited there, after her shift had ended, until I picked him up. I'm welling up with tears knowing that there are still such incredible people out there. We're both very happy to be home.
