Four reviews in ten years, every one of them five stars — General Residential Services is a small Wayland outfit whose written history is more loyal than large. The Better Business Bureau lists it as a corporation started in July 2005, run by Jeff McLeod as president, with two employees and the alternate name G.R.S.; Angi and HomeAdvisor instead put the start at 2007. What people hired them for is ordinary house upkeep. A 2016 Angi reviewer wrote that they are "always the first we are in touch with when we need general handyman services," and another that year — a homeowner of fifty years who had become disabled — said Jeff "has never left me unhappy with a result." The most recent account, a 2023 Google review, is about showing up on time to sites. That is the whole written history. Three of the four comments date from 2016 and 2017, Google carries a single rating, and Angi and HomeAdvisor are showing the same three comments twice rather than two independent sets. Its BBB grade is A+, and it is not BBB accredited. The self-described range is wide for a two-person shop: kitchens, bathrooms, basements, painting, carpentry, windows and landscaping on the BBB page, plus regrouting, recessed lighting and roofing repair on Porch. Worth a call for small, repeat handyman jobs around Wayland, especially if having the owner on site matters to you. For anything larger, ask for references from the last year or two — the written accounts you can read are years old.
