Fensu Dream Fence — trading as Fensu, Inc. and Dream Fence by Fensu Inc. out of 153 Elm St in Waltham — designs, fabricates, installs and repairs fencing across Greater Boston: cedar and other wood, vinyl, chain link and aluminum, plus gates and fittings for homes and commercial sites. It has been BBB accredited since January 2012 and carries an A+ grade there. The thing that comes up again and again across thirteen years of reviews is what happens after the fence is finished. A customer wrote in March 2025 that Chris and his team stopped by and fixed their gate footing more than nine years after the original installation, free of charge. Another, in January 2025, came back for a part replacement long after two completed jobs and had it fixed the next day at no cost. A 2025 addendum to an earlier review describes emailing about a gate that had come out of alignment over winter and having Chris there in less than three hours, no questions asked. A July 2025 customer whose cedar gate was damaged four years after a Charlestown installation had it repaired within 24 hours. An April 2025 reviewer who has had the same backyard fence since around 2009 says they have called a few times over the years after wind damage and always found the owner quick to respond and reasonable on cost. The installs themselves draw the same notes: quotes reviewers found well under competing bids, a named point of contact — Chris on design, pricing and site visits, Mike on the first walkthrough, a foreman who talks the scope through before starting and takes no short-cuts — and job sites left clean. An April 2026 customer having a scalloped cedar fence installed in Boston wrote that they had never had a job site left so clean. Awkward ground gets handled without fuss: a terraced yard fenced in 2015 that still looked good six years on, rocky soil and a tricky slope in 2022, and posts core-drilled through a retaining wall in May 2022 with the schedule coordinated around the customer's own mason. The one recent complaint is specific and worth raising directly. A June 2026 reviewer says the staff were rude, that a crew dug through their sprinkler line, would not stop when asked, and did not respect the property boundaries. Boundary questions surface in the good reviews too — one job waited on a neighbour's sign-off before the crew could start, and an October 2025 job was held through a month-long ordeal and a second land survey after a neighbour challenged the line. Before work starts, settle the boundary in writing and flag any irrigation, cabling or plantings along the run.
Fensu put up a vinyl fence for us. We had a great experience. Our neighbor is pleased as well - it's a partition fence. From design to install, the team was professional and quick to respond. We appreciated their attention to details.
Unbelievable rude staff. Dug on property through my sprinkler and when asked to stop would not. Refused to respect property boundaries
A+++ experience with Fensu, who installed a 6' tall scalloped cedar fence with 1" spaces between slats with gate and a matching 4' side fence with gate on a property in Boston. Initial meeting was with Mike, who was super helpful; scheduling was prompt with manager Chris, who worked to accommodate an especially good install time for me. Communication throughout was great. The crew (foreman Helmuth) were fantastic and H was great about talking through points of decision when some oddity of installation came up. Never in my life have I had a job site left so clean as these guys!! I have neighbors all around and the consideration was much appreciated. A shout out to their website - so many pictures of fence styles to help you decide.
We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Fensu! From start to finish, they were professional, efficient, and above all, incredibly kind and understanding during a stressful situation with our fence installation. After the initial work was completed, a neighbor unexpectedly challenged the property line, forcing us into a month-long ordeal involving a second land survey. Throughout it all, the team stood by us. They never pressured us, allowing plenty of time for things to be resolved, and always responded with patience and empathy. When the new survey came in and required the fence posts to be moved, they came back without hesitation — and without charging us anything extra for the adjustments. That level of integrity and customer care is so rare these days. Their willingness to go above and beyond during a really uncomfortable situation made all the difference for us. The final fence and gates look great. But what truly sets them apart is their character. We’re so grateful we chose Fensu and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for not only excellent craftsmanship but also outstanding customer service and support.
Chris and his team did magnificent job. Turned my yard from a dark dingy place to a very bright inviting environment. From the gentleman who took the measurements to the installers, everything was done very professionally, I couldn’t be more pleased. All work was done in a very timely manner and cleaned up nicely, at a very fair price. I would do business again with Fensu in a heartbeat.
