D&D Fine Carpentry works out of Dedham, taking on finish carpentry, additions, and remodeling jobs across the greater Boston area — the kind of work that shows up in reviews as stair rebuilds, garage additions, decks, and custom trim rather than ground-up new builds. Reviewers consistently credit one person running the crew, Gerry, though the company's own site doesn't spell out an ownership structure beyond that. The last few months back that up with specifics. In May, a homeowner said the craftsmanship and attention to detail on their project came out even better than they'd expected, with the crew keeping the workspace clean and staying easy to reach start to finish. In April, a repeat customer — this time hiring D&D to build a pergola at their flower shop — called the finished structure "a master class in carpentry," with the crew wrapping up ahead of the agreed date. And in March, a family brought D&D in after a flood had stalled their bathroom and garage project for months; the crew finished both rooms cleanly and without drama. That pattern of stepping into a job and finishing it carefully runs through the company's full Google history too — 18 reviews, all five stars, with no negative reviews in the last six months. Its Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor license, number 207429, is active with the state. Worth asking about before booking: D&D's review history sits almost entirely on Google — its Angi listing shows zero reviews there or on HomeAdvisor, so there's no independent read outside one platform yet. That same Angi profile also contradicts itself on how long the company has been around: its About text claims "over 19 years of experience," while a business-highlight badge on the same page says 11 years — worth asking Gerry directly rather than assuming either number. D&D reads as a solid call for finish-carpentry work, additions, decks, and remodels that are mostly carpentry rather than a full multi-trade gut renovation — especially useful if a previous contractor left a job stalled. Confirm the HIC license number against the state registry yourself, and ask directly how long the company has actually been operating before signing anything.

We recently hired D&D Fine Carpentry for some work in our home and the results came out even better than we expected. The craftsmanship and attention to detail were excellent from start to finish. They were professional, reliable, and very easy to communicate with throughout the project. Everything was completed on time, the workspace was kept clean, and you can tell they really care about the quality of their work. It’s hard to find contractors that are both skilled and dependable these days, and D&D Fine Carpentry definitely delivered on both. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality carpentry work.

I have worked with Gerry at my home before and he did an incredible job. This time I used them to construct a pergola at my flower shop. The pergola is a master class in carpentry. The crew was thorough, thoughtful, respectful and in time. They finished well before our agreed upon date and were clean. I am big on who you let into your home or business and these guys are all grade A as people and workers.

Gerry and his team were outstanding. They stepped in after months of delays and frustration following a flood, and finally got our bathroom and garage finished — cleanly, professionally, and without any drama. Every person on the crew was skilled, respectful, and easy to have in the house. The work looks fantastic, and my daughter is in love with her new bathroom. After five months of trying to get this project back on track, having a team show up, do the job right, and follow through on every detail was a huge relief. Highly recommend.
