Buckley Elevator does not work on houses. It is a commercial elevator company out of Hingham, and its customers are property managers, building associations and facilities staff — the people who call when the car stops between floors on a Monday morning. What reviewers keep returning to is speed. One wrote in July 2026 that a tech named Tim had their elevator fixed in under an hour; another described a surprise failure that had staff taking the stairs, resolved the same day. In an October 2025 review, a building manager said Buckley got their elevator running and re-inspected the next day after an inspector had shut it down. Several property managers describe using the company across multiple buildings, from monthly service to full replacements, and more than one calls the pricing competitive. The company says it is family owned and operated, with Linda Buckley as president, Tom Buckley as vice president, a staff of over 30, and 15 years in business across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The other side comes from two condo associations, both writing in mid-2025. One said its building failed the annual state inspection every year through two and a half years of Buckley service, after paying an extra fee each year meant to ensure it would pass, and had to remind the company repeatedly to check oil levels. The other said a full elevator replacement Buckley finished in 2022, costing the association over $150,000, has stopped working at random ever since and run up thousands of dollars in service calls. Separately, two people complained about how Buckley vans were being driven — one in July 2025 on I-95, one in January 2026 crossing the Anderson Memorial Bridge. A trade publication in 2025 described Buckley as a signatory contractor for the International Union of Elevator Contractors Local 4. If you manage a building on routine service and need someone who picks up and shows up, the last six months of reviews run consistently in Buckley's favor. If you are weighing a modernization or a full replacement, put those two association complaints to them directly: what the inspection-prep fee actually covers, and what recourse you have if new equipment does not hold up.
“Marr Rigging & Scaffolding, a union contractor employing multiple crafts and Buckley Elevator, a signatory contractor for the International Union of Elevator Contractors Local 4, are also contributing to the project.”
Outstanding service and A+ work. Cannot recommend more. Look nowhere else.
Tim fixed our elevator in under an hour!
Amazing company. We had a surprise issue on a Monday morning forcing staff to use stairs. They were super responsive and able to resolve quickly. Professional, knowledgeable, and friendly.
Highly recommend Buckley. They have been very reliable and reasonably priced.
