Big Cat Stump Removal grinds and removes stumps out of Middleborough, working residential and commercial properties across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The company says it started as a small neighbourhood operation and expanded from there, and that its equipment fits through gates and into narrow spaces. Customers deal with Brian directly; an employee, Josh, is named too. What comes back over and over in 2026 is speed and quoting. A June reviewer with four stumps got what they called the most in-depth estimate they had ever received, by text; when a vet bill meant they could only afford two, the crew came Monday morning and had both out inside half an hour. Another June customer had very large stumps taken out safely from along a road within days of a first call. An April customer had over 60 stumps ground in a single day, with the crew described as neat and respectful of the property. A May reviewer had a same-day quote and the work scheduled within two weeks. The finish matters here too. One April 2026 customer had the chips carted away and the holes filled with topsoil and grass seed — a complete job inside a week of enquiring. In May another described plywood barriers laid to protect surrounding plants while the stump was ground, plus advice on where to plant the replacement tree and to clear the chips so the new tree is not starved of nitrogen. Word of mouth is already moving: one May 2026 customer says a neighbour referred them, and in June a Plymouth neighbour on Nextdoor answering a stump-grinding request simply said to give Brian a call and posted the company's website. The one thing to weigh is age. Google shows 5 stars from 125 ratings, but every written review on file was posted in 2026, so the track record is strong and consistent but short. Get the scope in writing — specifically whether chip removal and backfill are included — and confirm insurance before work starts.

“Give Brian a call! https://www.bigcatstumpremoval.com”
I called Brian after seeing one of his signs around town. He showed up to give an estimate and was very professional. The day of the project his crew was on time, professional and did a great job. Thanks Big Cat!
Brian and his team at Big Cat Stump Removal did an excellent job removing very large stumps safely from along the road. He answered my first call, was professional and prompt, and completed the work within days of my initial contact. The price was affordable, and they left the worksite clean and tidy when they finished. Reliable, efficient, and good value — I will be using Big Cat again in the future, no doubt, they are highly recommended.
Big cat came out to give me an estimate to have possibly 4 stumps removed from my yard. He texted me the most in-depth estimate I think I have ever received. It was so thorough and prompt. Unfortunately, we had an unexpected vet bill come up and I could only afford to do 2 at the time. Brian was very understanding to our predicament. He came out Monday morning and had the 2 stumps gone within 30 minutes tops. He was on time, had great communication, and was beyond reasonable with his prices. Honestly, he was a breath of fresh air! Strongly recommend Big Cat; you absolutely won’t be disappointed!! (Picture of the baby spruce trees I was able to plant after the stumps were removed!)
Thank you Brian and your team for your efficiency and prompt response to our stump grinding needs. You run a professional operation and our experience was flawless. Our neighbor had referred you because he was very happy with your services and we couldn’t agree more.
Brian is the utmost professional. He came out within a few days of my request to evaluate my stump situation. He was able to give me affordable quote. I sealed the deal with him right then and there. A few days later, he came out with his employee, Josh, and went to work. He was very careful and considerate with the worksite, putting up to plywood barriers to protect the surrounding plants while he ground up the stump. Brian gave good advice on where I should plant the replacement tree and to make sure I remove any of the wood chips so that the nitrate is not absorbed and can be fed to the new tree. I got some Milorganite just to be safe. I highly recommend Big Cat Stump Removal. Here’s what I’ll do in the future: I’ll hire a tree company to cut the tree and hire Big Cat Stump Removal to remove the stump. I suggest you do the same and save some money.
