Bannon Paving lays asphalt out of Rockland, and the first thing you notice is the gap between the size of its jobs and the size of its public reputation. On Procore, where the company claimed its own profile in March 2024, nine projects sit on the books at an average size of $5.7 million, four of them active. On Google, there is exactly one rating. That one review, from August 2023, came from a homeowner who called the company efficient and was pleased with their driveway. A LinkedIn post from November 2023 noted a paving crew showing up. That is the whole of what customers have written about them. Its own site describes residential, commercial and municipal asphalt paving across Greater Boston, plus masonry, milling and reclamation, and sealcoating, with a 24/7 banner beside the phone number. The site gives no founding date, names no owner, and states no licence or insurance — all things to ask about before you sign. Two federal safety records belong in the conversation. Violation Tracker, published by Good Jobs First, lists a $6,030 penalty against Bannon Paving LLC dated July 29, 2021, an agency action by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration for a motor vehicle safety violation. Separately, truckdriver.com's record shows a Conditional DOT safety rating dated 8/16/2021 for a nine-truck, nine-driver fleet. Both concern the trucks rather than anyone's driveway, and both are five years old — but they are the most substantial third-party records on this company that exist. One oddity worth knowing: the Procore profile lists the company's only trade as 'Project Management and Coordination', which does not line up with the paving it advertises everywhere else. If you need a driveway or a lot paved, get the licence and insurance certificates in hand, ask for two or three recent local addresses you can drive by, and pin down the price and scope in writing. With a single review on file, what the crew has actually laid down nearby will tell you far more than anything published about them.
