Ballo's Multi Service is a Hyde Park outfit built around one job: rescuing a yard that's gotten away from someone. The company says it's been doing this for about a decade, run by founder John Ballo alongside landscaping architect Sophia Greene, and the reviews back up what that looks like in practice — crews that show up fast and take on the kind of overgrown mess most people would rather not deal with themselves. Speed keeps coming up. In mid-June, one customer had a fallen tree removed within two hours of calling, for only a modest rush charge. A few days earlier, another reviewer described edging and mulching a yard that had been neglected for years, calling out how much attention the crew paid to detail. Cleanups dominate the recent reviews — clearing years of leaves and construction debris, shaping shrubs, pulling weeds that were choking out trees — and the same two names, Rich and Richard, turn up across nearly all of them, suggesting a small, consistent crew rather than rotating subcontractors. That pattern isn't new: across 40 reviews stretching back to 2024, the story has stayed the same. One thing worth asking about before booking repeat work: a returning customer said this year's estimated hours for a similar job looked materially higher than expected, got a second quote, and went with a different contractor who finished in about half the time for roughly $500 less. They still called the past work good and the hourly rate itself reasonable — the concern was specifically how the hours were estimated on a repeat job, not the workmanship. Snow removal shows up as a winter add-on for some of the same customers, and the company's own site also lists junk removal, power washing, and handyman work, though those get far less mention in reviews than the core lawn and cleanup jobs. A few directories list different review counts — 43 on Google directly, 36 or 28 on land-clearing and lawn-care aggregator pages — which look like different snapshots of the same underlying Google listing. Ballo's is a solid call for a yard cleanup, ongoing mowing, or a fall/spring reset, especially if a fast quote and fast start matter. For anything billed hourly and recurring, it's worth pinning down a firm hours estimate rather than assuming last year's number will hold.

Prompt, responsive, thorough service! I reached out for a quote, and had a fallen tree removed within two hours, with only a nominal rush charge, despite it being at the end of the day. I left a message, had a response within the hour, a solid quote 15 minutes after that, and then a friendly, responsible crew that arrived shortly thereafter. Some of the timing was luck, but the attitude was so positive and solution-driven. Thank you so much.

These guys did a phenomenal job with our yards edging and mulching that quite honestly was neglected for years. That's on me. We are extremely grateful to the crew who took their time with great attention to detail. I highly recommend Ballo's Multi Service for all your lawn and garden needs.

I had a good experience with their work in the past, and their hourly rate is reasonable. Easy to communicate with. However, I chose not to hire them this year because their estimated hours for similar work seemed materially high. I got another quote and went with a different contractor, who completed the work in about half the estimated time and saved me close to $500. Based on my experience, they can do good work, but I would not move forward without getting a second estimate on the expected hours. The hourly rate may look reasonable, but the total cost can change significantly if the time estimate is too high.

We hired Ballo’s to do a huge cleanup of our yard, which had two years of neglected leaves in addition to a pile of construction debris. Not only did they clean everything up, they also took care to shape our shrubs and get rid of a few weeds that were killing trees. I found the price very reasonable for all the work they had to do. We will be using them again!
