Affordable Cabinet Refacing works out of Andover under owner Shawn Williams, with eight people on the books and a second trading name, Affordable Cabinets and Closets. What they sell is narrow and they say so plainly: new doors and drawer fronts fitted over your existing cabinet boxes, plus closet systems, garage cabinets and cabinet painting. The cabinets and closets are built in their own Massachusetts shop rather than bought in. Customers hire them as the alternative to ripping a kitchen out. One recent customer had stared at outdated cabinets for ten years before finding a company to do the job at a reasonable price, and had several broken doors and drawers fixed in the process. Another had doors that were peeling and could not be repainted; the boxes were sound, so refacing gave them a kitchen that looks new for a fraction of a full replacement. A third had forty-year-old doors in poor shape and describes an installer working long days to transform the room. One customer has now had them back for more than ten kitchens and closets over ten years. The same names come up again and again — Matthew and Justin on the tools, Debra in the office handling scheduling and follow-up — which is what a small settled crew looks like rather than a churn of subcontractors. Across seven sources the record runs to 131 reviews since 2019: 5.0 from 101 ratings on Google and 4.9 from 176 on HomeAdvisor, where 96 percent sit at five stars. Two things to raise before signing. First, the licence. The state registry confirms Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration 195565 as active — but the number the company publishes for itself on its Houzz profile is a different one, 156360, which BuildZoom records as inactive and at one point cancelled. Ask which number is current and check it yourself on the state register. BuildZoom also carries a Rhode Island contractor registration marked active beside a note that it expired in July 2011, so treat that one as unproven in either direction. Second, durability. One customer reported that doors installed about four years earlier began delaminating and air-pocketing roughly a year in; the company remeasured, re-ordered and replaced them at no charge, over multiple visits, which is the response you would want but is worth asking about up front. Ask what warranty covers door finish and delamination, and for how long. They are the right call if your cabinet boxes are sound and you want a new-looking kitchen in days rather than weeks. They are the wrong call if you need walls moved or a full gut — that is not what they do.

★★★ ★★ 10 hours ago I couldn't be happier with how my kitchen turned out. After staring at ugly out dated cabinets for 10 years I finally found a trust worthy company to do the job at a reasonable price. Even fixed several broken doors and drawers. Matthew was incredible with his work effort and helpfulness. Deborah and Sean were very attentive and helpful as well. 10/10 recommend to everyone who doesn't want or need a full cabinet replacement

A few years ago we had the pleasure of working with Affordable Cabinet refacing , and I can’t express enough how impressed I am with their exceptional service and craftsmanship. From the moment we called to inquire we spoke to Deborah, who was incredibly helpful and made scheduling appointments a breeze. Shawn, the owner, is not only knowledgeable but genuinely cares about his customers. He took the time to walk us through our options and ensured we felt comfortable with our decisions and was extremely flexible with accommodating our ideas. A few years later we had some damage in our kitchen. We reached out to them and they helped us replace some cabinetry. In a world where customer service and affordable prices are practically non existent, affordable cabinets is a rare gem! I highly recommend them!!

Our cabinets were structurally fine but the doors were peeling and could not be repainted. It was a great decision to go with Affordable Cabinet Refacing. Our kitchen looks brand new, and for a fraction of the cost of a full replacement. The employee that did all the work was hardworking and respectful of our space. The company works seamlessly with a countertop company, and so we had those done too. It was overall a very positive experience.

I have had Afordable Cabinet Refacing perform more than 10 kitchens and closets remodeling in the past 10 years. Sean, Debora and all the installers have been great to us. The service and quality of work has been outstanding. We can’t wait for our next project!
