Abode Energy Management

We recently had insulation done for our recently bought home and had to schedule a post inspection to make sure it's done correctly. The inspector, Kermit, was scheduled for 9 am and he arrived much earlier than 9 and started work right at 9 am even though the arrival window is 9 am- 12 pm. He was very thorough and explained every single detail of what looks right and the issues to be redone and answered all of our questions my husband and I had. He had all his equipment with him and actually made sure our heating system is working properly by using his monitor. He took photos for the report and measurements throughout the inspection and assured me that I'll be contacted in 2-3 weeks to get the issues resolved. I highly recommend Kermit!

I've been working with Abode on an attic weatherization project. Jake, the lead inspector, has been great to work with. He's done a ton of crawling, inspecting, and hands-on diagnostic work in a really challenging attic, and has been thorough and knowledgeable throughout. His manager, Jason, has also been really supportive, calling me on a weekend to get things scheduled and then driving nearly two hours to put eyes on the situation himself. They've both made it clear they're available if anything comes up down the road. Really appreciate the level of support from the Abode team!

I just had a Solar project installed with the wrong vendor. The people at Abode were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to bring this project to a close. Ben Hubbard and Joe Fisher were outstanding. Thank you both as well as all of the Abode team.

Our experience with Abode has been extremely disappointing. It often felt like they were advocating for the contractor rather than protecting the homeowner, which is concerning for a program that is supposed to operate with consumer safety and compliance in mind. We went through the Mass program for an oil tank removal and heat pump installation, which required us to work with Abode. They recommended a contractor called the Team Sunshine. The removal and installation were completed in June, but the contractor did not apply for the required permit for months. After four months of waiting, we were forced to escalate the issue to the program and to Abode before the contractor finally submitted the permit application. Even after the permit was filed, the Team Sunshine Arthur avoided scheduling the inspection needed to close the permit. Despite our many reminders to Abode that the permit remained open and our concerns that the installation might not be up to code and could pose safety risks Abode still marked the project as “complete” without our authorization. At the same time, our rebate window was about to expire, yet Abode offered no real assistance. Instead, they simply advised us to pay the contractor and proceed with the rebate even though the permit was still open. We spent nearly $50,000 on this project, and what we are left with is a heating system that may have safety issues and a contractor who is unresponsive.

My heat pump consultation through EnergizeCT was totally useless. The "report" I received about my consultation contained a bunch of general information that is on the EnergizeCT website. I received it from a person who was not even a person I did the consultation with.
